He was captured about a quarter mile off the Philip Goldson Highway between miles 44 and 45 on the outskirts of Carmelita Village. He reportedly attacked officers with a machete, leading them to shoot him on the left arm and left hip. Rhaburn remains under heavy police guard at the Northern Regional Hospital. We spoke to his brother, Luis Rhaburn, who shared the family’s sentiments with regards to Rhaburn’s capture.

LUIS RHABURN, BROTHER

Everyone is more happy that Andy has been captured and they can walk the street freely now because before we lock up early and we were afraid because if he did that to my mom he can do anything to any one of us. Yesterday we were at the hospital and we saw the police they brought him in and he was captured by the where the Chinese farm is; he was coming out form the bush and a guy saw him so he called the police and they reach and they find him and they went after him but he never wanted to surrender himself so they had to do what they did.

Did you see Andy at the Hospital or at the Police Station?

LUIS RHABURN, BROTHER

Yesterday evening when my sister went in and saw him but he doesn’t want to see no of the family like his sisters or brothers because he says that we would do something to him. We are all sad and hurt the way he is in the hospital you know it’s not something that you know; we all have heart and feelings but we cannot do nothing because it was his choice and he wanted it like that. I know my mom used to give him all the love and care he wanted but look like he never appreciate what my mom was doing for him.

According to the family, Rhaburn attacked Pech after she refused to give him money to buy drugs.
