30-year-old Sylvino Ical and his daughter lost everything on Friday night after a fire gutted their home in Pomona Village, Stann Creek District. According to Ical, that night he left his house en route to his parent’s house when at around 8 pm, one of his neighbors alerted him that his house was on fire. Ical believes it was arson.

“Unfortunately, when I got there the entire house was engulfed in flame and I was not able to save anything from the house. Everything went to ashes.”

“What do you believe happened?”

“The Police are still doing their investigation but I highly doubt it is electrical because I do electrical work and the last thing I would do for myself is set up myself for my house to burn down. I don’t want to go ahead of myself and I leave that to the Police.”

“However do you suspect, the slightest, that your house was intentionally set on fire by someone else?”

SYLVINO ICAL, FIRE VICTIM

“Definitely, definitely that is the only thing that comes to mind at this time. It is unfortunate and I am saddened because I am a person who bothers nobody. I have no direct enemy or so to speak you know. So it’s a little bit puzzling and I hope that the Police can do their best to assist me with whatever and get to the real bottom of why or how and also the fire department.”

If you would like to assist Ical in any way you can call him at cell phone number 663-9129.
