A .38 snub nose revolver handgun was removed from the streets yesterday. The gun which was loaded with four .38 S and B brand rounds of ammunition was found on Fern Lane in Belize City during a search. A chrome and black 9mm pistol was also found. Officers found it in an abandoned boat in the Conch Shell Bay Area of the old capital.  A third firearm was found and this one is a 9mm pistol which was loaded with three 9mm live rounds. It was found inside a black plastic bag beside a tomb near Partridge Street Extension. A fourth firearm was found near St Thomas Street and according to ASP Alejandro Cowo the firearm was used in a recent robbery.

ASP Alejandro Cowo, CIB:“What we have gathered so far is that there was a robbery at the corner of Thomas St. and Down St. I think its Diamond Restaurant or Diamond bar and the suspects that were involved in the robbery upon fleeing form the location and they dropped the fire arm and it was found by Police.”

In all instances, no one was in the area at the time of the discovery so the guns were labeled and deposited as ‘found property’.
