Estella Polanco of Dangriga is grappling with the recent loss of her teenage daughter whom she believes was abused and poisoned by someone close to her.  As if that were not a big enough burden to bear, Polanco is now faced with the loss of her three other children as they have reportedly been taken away by Social Services.  Polanco spoke with Love News today and explained that the three children were living with her father.  She says that despite numerous efforts to regain custody of her children, her father refused to let them go.  There are many allegations made by the mother against her father that she says are putting her three children at risk.  According to Polanco, when her 18-year-old daughter passed away on October 26, the Social Services personnel came and took the children from her father after she had gone to seek their assistance to get them back.

Estella Polanco, Mother: “I have three more kids at my dad’s house and I tried my best to move them but he said I cannot move them and I let the social services take them from him because my kids are going through a lot with him all of us from young we are growing up with him and I don’t want my kids to go through that anymore so they are at the children’s home in Belmopan. I have two in high school and one in primary school. I had five kids for the dad that passed away thirteen years ago.”

The three children, ages 16, 14 and 12 are at the King’s Children’s Home.  Polanco says that while she sought the assistance of social services, she is still living without them. Estella Polanco lost her first child to gun violence while her daughter was poisoned and beaten late last month.  Police are yet to make an arrest in either of the two cases.
