Gun violence claims two lives in old capital

Last night, the gun violence continued in the old capital with not one, but two shooting incidents. The first shooting incident took place at the corner of Cemetery Road and Pregnant Alley, where multiple shots were fired. When it subsided two persons were dead, 26-year-old Lloyd Valentine and 12-year-old David Morrison, a student of Queen Street Baptist Primary School while Albert Wagner was injured. At this morning’s police press brief, ASP Alejandro Cowo, Head of CIB, shared with the media what transpired.

“The first shooting incident happened sometime after seven pm. Police responded to shots being fired at Cemetery Road and as a result, they made checks at the corner of Cemetery Rd. and Pregnant Alley were police was confirmed that shootings were transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. As a result of making checks at the hospital Police observed Lloyd Valentine and David Morrison with multiple shots to the body, they were pronounced dead on arrival and also they saw another male person Albert Wagner suffering from a gunshot wound to the right of his rib area, he was treated and we understand that he was discharged last night from the hospital. What Police had gathered so far is that prior to the shooting they were socializing at the corner of Cemetery Rd. and Pregnant Alley when a male person rode one bicycle towards them and fired several shots causing fatal injuries to Lloyd Valentine and to David Morrison and injuring Albert at the scene there. Police are recovered several expended shells and at present are looking for two male person that can assist in this investigation.”

The shooting occurred despite a heavy police presence in the area.
