Earlier this month, Love News received information indicating that Vildo Westby, who is wanted by Belize Police for questioning in the murder of 44-year-old Felix Ayuso, was in custody of Mexican authorities. We understood at the time that he was expected to be handed over to law enforcement officers in Belize. Last week Monday, Belize Police said only that they are still trying to confirm what they referred to as “rumors”. Today, ACP Joseph Myvett shared a bit more on the matter.
ACP. Joseph Myvett, Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch:
“We are in communication with the Mexican authorities and they are requiring further information in order to determine the identity of the person whom they have in custody. So we have not confirmed his identity as yet that he is the person in custody.”
44-year-old Felix Ayuso was killed in early February in San Pedro. His body was found with multiple stab wounds. At the time Police said there was no sign of forced entry at his home. Shortly after the murder, Police issued a wanted bulletin for Westby.
