Jamaicans lost at sea wind up on San Pedro

Three Jamaican fishermen were lost at sea and wound up on the island.  The men, identified as 50-year-old Noel Samuels, 23-year-old Romeo Lewis, and 44-year-old Karma Beckford were reportedly adrift at sea for about 25 days. Reports indicate that the boat Captain, Noel Samuels and the other two men left Lucy, West Moreland Jamaica on June 23 to go fishing 15 miles off the coast of Negril. They soon drifted into open sea and on Thursday, their boat reached the coast of San Pedro Ambergris Caye. The three men were assisted and taken to the San Pedro Polyclinic for treatment. Further reports indicate that a man had called police on Wednesday saying he was lost at sea. By Thursday afternoon, the three Jamaicans’ boat was found docked near the Grand Caribe Resort on San Pedro. They have been released from the San Pedro Polyclinic and their case has been handed over to Immigration officials.
