Kevin Brown’s alleged attackers off the hook

1 min read

Three young men who were accused of viciously beating Kevin Brown in August of last year are off the hook.  The criminal case brought against twenty one year old Jafari Castro, twenty-one-year-old James Young Jr., and 18 years old Gilbert Franklin Jr. was dismissed by Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford yesterday. Senior Magistrate Ford dismissed the charge because the case was set for trial and the complainant, Brown, failed to appear. Castro, who was represented by attorney Herbert Panton, Franklin Jr., and Young Jr., who were represented by attorney Dickie Bradley, had been charged with ‘harm’. Brown, a basketball player of Camalote Village, accused the three men of attacking him while at a San Pedro hotel on August 6. He was reportedly hit on the head with a fire extinguisher.
