Leah Martinez places sixth for PSE’s in the country

Leah Martinez, a bright young lady, has made her family and herself proud by placing sixth in the country for the Primary School Examinations (PSE). Leah, who just graduated from Hummingbird Elementary, stopped by our studio earlier today and told us that she knew from the start that she would be in the top 25.

Leah Martinez – Humming Bird Elementary School: “I felt very excited, I was happy, I was proud, I know my family is proud of and happy for me because I tried my best. Overall I was very excited with the results.”

Courtney Menzies: “Did you expect it all?”

Leah Martinez – Humming Bird Elementary School: “I expected to do good, I wasn’t sure how I would do but I was expecting to be in the top 25. I was expecting to do good and have a good grade because I studied hard on a day to day basis so yes I was expecting to do good.”

Courtney Menzies: “When you got closer to crunch time, how did you prepare?”

Leah Martinez – Humming Bird Elementary School: “Just writing down proper notes, doing some past papers, listening to my teachers,  their advice. Also, I went to evening schools, studying at home, doing some past papers and that is pretty much it.”

Courtney Menzies: “Have you decided which High School you are going to go to and what you are going to study?”

Leah Martinez – Humming Bird Elementary School: “I don’t know what I am going to study but I decided to go to SCA.”

According to Leah, Math and Social Studies were the easiest part of the PSE’s for her. She has already been accepted into St. Catherine’s Academy.
