From San Ignacio, Belize, Elaine Berry 

"Some time after two this morning Police received information of a shooting incident at the corner of Third Street and Oscar Sabido Street, information received is that two males of Hispanic decent went to a mechanic shop belonging to one Cecilio Gregorio, twenty five years on a red motor bike and ask to see Cecilio, a worker showed them Cecilio and they approached him.  One of the male persons asked him if he had a job vacancy, after which the person who ask for the job, took out a point 38 revolver and shot Cecilio in the right shoulder.  He was transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital and then to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where his injuries are not listed as life threatening. The two male persons made good their escape on the motor cycle through the Bullet Tree and Clarissa Falls Area then over to the Guatemalan Border. 

A Chinese business man establishment on Joseph Andrews Drive was robbed on Friday at about 10 AM.  Two men entered the store and stole one laptop, phone cards, and cash.  Quick response led to the apprehension of one William Roysa, 20 years of a Guatemalan address and Ghian Espat, 20 year Belizean labourer of Santa Elena.  They were charged for robbery and have been remanded to the prison.  Nahiem Quiroz, of a Second Street address, was found in possession of all the items and was charged for handling stolen goods.  Ghian Espat was an employee of the Chinese store and was recently laid off.
