The body of a man that was recovered from the Mopan River in San Jose Succotz on Saturday Morning has been identified as that of Manuel Perez Lopez, a Mexican National who was employed by the Guatemalan Mechanical rides presently in Benque Viejo Del Carmen for their annual Benque Fiesta.  According to police, Lopez’s employer says that Lopez had been in neighboring Melchor De Mencos consuming alcohol the day before but there is no certainty as to what led to Lopez’s death.  The body now awaits a post mortem examination.
