MEDICAL PERSONNEL FROM MEXICO IN COROZAL TOWN CONDUCTING HEALTH FAIR

Medical personnel from the State of Quintana Roo Mexico are in Belize to conducting a two day health fair in Corozal Town. The event was organized through the Embassy of Mexico in Belize, the Ministry and the Desarrollo integral de la Familia, the National System for Integral Family Development in Quintana Roo. The clinics started this morning and services being offered include general medical consultation, dental checkups for adults and children, clinical breast examinations, pap smears, testing for osteoporosis and attention for the prevention of disabilities.
In his address in the opening ceremony this morning, the Ambassador of Mexico to Belize Mario Velasquez Suarez said they hope that the services quote, “undoubtedly will have great benefits for almost two thousand persons in Corozal”. In addition, the team from Quintana Roo also brought a science trailer to attract the curiosity and interest of students and children alike in science and technology and its importance in the intellectual and social development of a society. They also have with them a mobile planetarium to teach children a few interesting facts about our universe. The Ambassador congratulated all parties involved, including the Ministry of Health, Minister Pablo Marin, the Minister of Health of Quintana Roo, Doctor Rafael Alpuche Delgado, the medical personnel and their assistants, and President of the System for the Integral Development of the Family Zorrilla Borge for their collaboration in making the event a reality.
