CAR CRASH ON THE HUMMINGBIRD HIGHWAY

Five persons are injured after a trailer tractor that they were travelling in, was hit from behind by an eighteen wheeler trailer truck. Correspondent Fem Cruz Reports

“Yesterday Wednesday, July 25 sometime around 12 PM between miles 35 and 36 on the Hummingbird Highway Saul Bailey was driving a 18 wheeler trailer truck travelling from Dangriga towards the city of Belmopan and upon passing a blind curve, he was trying to overtake a trailer tractor but at the same time a James passenger bus was coming from the opposite direction. As a result he applied brakes but due to the fact that it happened so quickly, the trailer truck cannot stop and it caused it to collide into the rare end of the trailer tractor. Where the trailer tractor ended up under the truck injuring all five persons on the tractor. The driver of the tractor was later learned to be 36 years old Noeh Carpio who suffer abrasion to his body, bruises to the right side of his head and complain of pain to the back and chest. 22 year old Nery Perez suffers abrasion to his left hand and complains of pain to the entire left side of his body. 26 year old Jose Quetzal suffers abrasion and bruises on his pelvic area and complains of pain to the right hand. 24 year old Jorge Mejia suffer both broken right and left leg and a large cut wound under the chin and abrasions to the right hand and bruises over his body and 30 year old Wilfredo Collado suffer both broken leg and complain of pain all over his body. The driver of the tractor Noeh Carpio and Nery Perez are presently in a stable condition at the Western Regional Hospital while Jose Quetzal, Jorge Mejia and Wilfredo Collado are currently at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical condition.
