MAN SUFFERS FROM GUNSHOT WOUNDS IN COROZAL TOWN Jul 26, 2012

A twenty seven year old man is recovering from gunshot wounds he sustained last night in Corozal Town. Police responded to a call after nine last night and found Corozal Town resident Mark Massam Jr. being treated for four gunshot wounds at the Corozal Community Hospital.

According to official police reports Massam was socializing with his eighteen year old girlfriend on First Avenue under a palapa when a lone gunman came from behind and fired several shots at him. Massam sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand, under his right arm pit and two to the right side of his chest. His assailant then reportedly ran from the scene.

After processing the scene, police recovered five expended shells from a .38 revolver. No arrests have been made and police have no suspects. The eighteen year old female who we understand is from Belize City was unharmed.

Massam remains hospitalized at the Corozal Community Hospital in a stable condition. The 27 year old is under police guard however as according to authorities, Massam was being sought for questioning in reference to the double murder of thirty-eight year old Robert Hernandez and fifty year old Kenrick Vacario that occurred on July 11th. Massam had been successfully evading police until last night. Dalila Ical for Love News.
