“The murder rampage that appeared to have subside for a few weeks resurged this past weekend with two more in the old capital. Shortly after nine last Friday night, Stephen Flowers, a man that the Police say was affiliated with a street gang was gunned down in front of Isaray Bakery on Mahogany Street. The 24-year-old, was hit to his left rib cage, right side of the chest, right rib cage and right hand. The Police Press Officer, Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood explained to reporters that Flowers was with Rayan Mejia, who was also struck in both legs.”

“Both men were rushed to the KHMH where Flowers died at around eleven that same night. Love News understands that before he died, Flowers managed to have named the shooter and Police think that they have who they want but fear that they might be in more trouble to follow this homicide.”

“Neighbors told us off camera that they heard a slew of gunshots that night and when they looked outside they saw the victims on the ground. It was not the same scenario, however for Belize City’s second weekend murder. This time the scene was an area on Cemetery Road and the victim was a musician with the Belize Defense Force Band. It happened at around 2:30 this morning while Wayne Madrill and a friend were walking on the street. Gunshots blared out while residents slept and while his friend escaped unscathed, MAdrill was fatally hit in the face and head. Police believe that the BDF Band Member was not the intended target.”

“Our investigators have established that he was not the intended target. We have the other person in custody and hopefully by interviewing that person we would be able to establish what is the motive behind the murder.”

“Up to news time there have been no arrests in connection with the killing of Wayne Madrill who were probably caught in the proverbial, wrong place at the wrong time. Marion Ali for Love News.”
