Duo Arrested for Publicly Discharging Firearm

Two Belize City men have been detained pending charges of discharging a firearm in public. They are twenty six year old Brandon Smith and twenty year old Wilbert Gentle. Police say that on Friday afternoon, a mobile patrol on Sittee Street observed Smith firing several shots in the direction of the home of Osmond Mitchell on Sibun Street. Police say that when the men saw the officers, they both rode off towards Ebony Street. Scenes of Crime Technicians recovered seven 9 millimeter expended shells from the scene. Both Brandon Smith and Wilbert Gentle have been detained pending charges.
