A man was killed in a traffic accident in Ladyville on Friday night shortly before eight o’clock.  Police investigations revealed that fifty eight year old Ruperto Alvarez of Barrier Reef Crescent in Ladyville was crossing the road heading toward the Shell One Stop Gas Station when a white Ford Escape which was travelling from the direction of Belize City toward Ladyville suddenly knocked him down.  The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid.  Alvarez was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical officer.
