Wednesday, September 12 --------- Man Remanded to Prison After Pulling Gun on Spouse Sep 12, 2012

Twenty-five year old Allison Williams, a laborer of  Rivero Street, who allegedly put a pistol to his common-law wife’s back, was charged with aggravated assault when he appeared in court  today. Williams was also charged with harm and using threatening words.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate Dale Cayetano explained to him that the court cannot offer him bail because of the nature of one of the offences.

Williams then asked that he be given an adjourned date that is close to the mandatory three months before the magistrate court can offer him bail. He was remanded into custody until December 12.

The incident occurred around 5:15 this morning. Thirty-eight year old Jacqueline Young reported to the police that Williams awoke around 5 o’clock thismorning and she followed him as he went on Kraal Road. She said she saw him talking to the mother of his baby and an argument ensued between them. She said Williams then pulled her by her hair and he took a piece of stick and hit her on her left arm and it caused bruises and swelling. She told police that Williams then went to the back of a green plywood house and returned with a black .38 pistol and put to her back and threatened to kill her.
