Anglican Church Prepares For The Forty Seventh Diocesan Synod
Oct 02, 2012
The Anglican Diocese of Belize is preparing to host its 47th Diocesan Synod next week.
The Synod is a biennial meeting of lay delegates from all the churches and diocesan organizations and is the highest governing body of the diocese and establishes policy and programmes for at least the next two years.
The theme for this Synod is “Equipped for Ministry, Empowered for Service” reflecting the Anglican Church’s continued quest to develop its capacity for service to the Belizean Society.
The synod will be attended by the Archbishop of the Province of the West Indies, the Most Rev. Dr. John Holder and Mrs. Holder. The Archbishop will be presenting the homily at the closing Service. This will be Dr. Holder’s first visit to Belize since he was elected as Archbishop in 2010. The Synod will take place from October 11 to 14.
