Home Invasion At Central Bank's Governor Residence

Police in Belize City are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred on Tuesday afternoon. It happened at the home of Central Bank of Belize governor Glenford Ysaguirre, who was not at home at the time of the incident.
According to police reports, Ysaguirre’s housekeeper reported that at around three o’clock yesterday afternoon she was accosted by a dark complexion man while inside her employer’s house.
Portillo says that the man knocked on the front door and when she opened door, the man forced himself inside and placed a knife to her throat. The housekeeper says that her assailant took her to a room on the second floor and tied her up and proceeded to rob an assortment of electronic items. The woman says that after the robber left, she managed to free herself and called her employer to report the incident.
Police say that Ysaguirre has confirmed that a number of electronic items, including two laptop computers, two I Pods and a cell phone were stolen. Police investigations continue.
