Police Issues Release on Coney Drive Robbery Oct 29, 2012

 

Love News yesterday initially reported on a robbery that took place on Coney Drive in Belize City which sent police on a chase in the West Landivar area to detain the suspects and in the process alarming several residents and schools in the area. 

Today police issued an official report which states that Yue Di Kuang, thirty eight year old Belizean Businesswoman and owner of Moon Grocery on Coney Drive and resident of the same address reported that around 1:40 yesterday afternoon she was inside the store along with her daughter, twenty two year old Yin Zhu Li, a Belizean Sales Clerk, when two dark complexioned males and another fair complexioned male entered the establishment. 

One of the dark complexioned men was armed with a firearm and pointed it at the Kuang, while the other dark complexioned man proceeded to steal cash from the register totaling one thousand five hundred dollars in different denominations and thereafter made good their escape.  Police on Mobile patrol in the area responded and pursued the three men. 

Upon reaching the corner of Sun Dial Avenue and University Boulevard, one of the dark complexioned males pointed what appeared to be a black nine millimeter pistol toward their direction and fired several gunshots in their direction and then made good their escape into the mangrove swamp.  No one was injured in the fire exchange. 

The following items were retrieved from the area, 1 camouflage bag containing seven five Belize dollar notes, ten, ten belize dollar notes, one five U.S dollar, one, One US dollar, fifty one two Belize dollar notes, fifty three one Belize dollar coins.  Also recovered at the corner of Sundial Avenue and University Boulevard was one nine millimeter S&B luger brand expended shell and one black warm hat.  Police detained two persons and are seeking another.
