Oct 29, 2012
Earlier in the week Love News reported on the case of 18 year old Miriam Rodriguez, a student of San Pedro High School, who had been reported missing by her mother Ofelia Polanco and later alleged that she had been kidnapped in Belize City by two men, whom she claimed demanded ten thousand dollars for ransom and were injecting her with some kind of substance so she could pass out.
Rodriguez safely returned home on the afternoon of Tuesday October 23rd. As it turns out, Miriam who resides at Boca Del Rio Area of San Pedro visited the Crimes Investigation Branch in Belize City and reported that she was raped by two unknown dark complexioned male persons. She claimed they kidnapped her from the Belize Express Water Taxi Terminal on North Front Street. She said the incident occurred on Saturday October 20.
Rodriguez reported that she was held against her will in an area unknown to her and that she was raped and kept against her will until Monday October 22. Rodriguez then changed her story saying she was not raped but was assaulted in an indecent manner. Thereafter she changed her story once again and mentioned that she lied as she was with a male friend who has a family in San Pedro. She said she agreed to meet him during their last facebook communication. They stayed at a hotel from Saturday until Monday. As a result police arrested and charged Miriam Rodriguez for the offence of Mischievous Act.
