“The Belmopan City Council will be having a very important public consultation this evening at the Belmopan Civic Centre starting at 7pm sharp. This meeting is to discuss the phase two of the municipal development project and will also have positive implications for the upcoming grading of streets in the City of Belmopan. Mayor Simeon Lopez will tell us the objective of this meeting and why it is necessary for the people of Belmopan to come out.”
MAYOR SIMEON LOPEZ
“In 2009 a loan was secured by the Government of Belize for municipal development projects in seven municipalities in Belize. The infrastructural part of the project includes two phases; the first phase in Belmopan is about to be completed and we are getting ready to launch the second phase by consulting with our residents the next areas in Belmopan that will need to be developed infrastructurally as that is a requirement of the funding agency. Tonight at seven, the Council and the Social Investment Fund will be holding a public consultation to sort out the streets in the areas of Belmopan that will be done under the second phase of the infrastructural section of the Belize Municipal Development Project. We are encouraging the residents of Belmopan to come out in full force as they will be the ones who will decide which areas to be worked on.”
