A human skull found in the Los Lagos Area last week is believed to be a male. In the bi-weekly police press brief this morning, ASP Alejandro Cowo, Head of the Crime Investigation Branch in Belize City said that tests ran on the remains did not reveal much more.
ASP Alejandro Cowo Head of C.I.B.: “Based on the skull that was found by Police on Friday, on yesterday’s date the pathologist conducted an examination on the skull. It was determined that it is a human skull and it ranges between 20 to 30 years of age.”
Reporter: “So you have ruled out the two missing persons based on that?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo Head of C.I.B.: “No we have not ruled that out as yet.”
Reporter: “And so we don’t know anything as to the cause of death?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo Head of C.I.B.: “No the examination showed that the skull did not have any kind of trauma to it or injury on it.”
Reporter: “So there is an open investigation happening?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo Head of C.I.B.: “Yes the missing person that was reported about two or three years ago from that area.”
The police did not find any other human remains during additional searches conducted in the area where the skull was found.
