A home invasion occurred early this morning in the West Landivar area of Belize City. A woman in her twenties woke up to several men wearing mask and gloves in her apartment on the third floor. The building has cameras on each floor facing the stairs and the entrance of the property. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett says the woman was not physically injured during the traumatic experience.
ACP Joseph Myvette: “This morning shortly after 4 am Belize City Police responded to the scene of an aggravated burglary on University Blvd. in Belize City where upon arrival a 24 year old Legal assistant who occupies the fourth floor or the upper flat of the building reported to them that shortly after 3:15 am this morning she heard a noise inside her apartment and upon coming out of her room to make checks she was approached by four dark in complection persons who were all masked. They tied her up and ransacked the entire building where a number of electronic items and jewelries along with two firearms being a 9mm pistol and a .223 rifle were stolen by those persons.
