Another robbery happened on Saturday in Belize City where medical students and the employees of a restaurant were robbed. ASP Cowo shared details of the incident.
ASP Alejandro Cowo: “On Saturday just about 4:30PM Jolly Bees restaurant was held up by three male persons. Present inside of the establishment was the manager of the restaurant Mr.Delip Kumar along with other Indian descent medical students who were having lunch at the time in the restaurant when three male persons entered, one with a firearm and they held up the students along with the manager and the two employees that were inside of the restaurant. Stolen from them were assorted items being cellphones, cash and the cash register and other monies that the person had. Police quick response in the area led to the detention of four male persons who are presently detained and police are looking for charges to be levied against them sometime today.”
Reporter: So did they lead a pursuit to catch these individuals ?
ASP Alejandro Cowo: “They escaped in a car and police pursued them and they found most of the belongings that were reported stolen from the patrons and from the manager of Jolly Bees. No shots were fired. These persons that were involved in those robberies are from this side of the city, ED 1.”
19 year old Lemar lamb, 18 year old Robert Lamb and 20 year old Iwin Palma were charged with five counts of robbery. They pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were arraigned today by Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. They were remanded into custody until August 28. Robert Lamb, a student of Sadie Vernon High School, was charged with burglary about two weeks ago and he was released on bail. In that burglary, Lamb reportedly stole a grey metal safe that contained fifteen thousand five hundred dollars.
