The murder of Emmy winning filmmaker Richard Foster has saddened friends and family in Belize and the UK. Over the weekend three men were detained and charged with Foster’s murder. It was a callous act of violence on the dual citizen. Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett explained the motive for Foster’s murder at a press briefing this morning.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch: “Police have since arrested and charged Andrew Clarke, 31 years and Derwin Jones 26 years both for the crime of murder and abetment to murder. There is one more person in custody, one Edmond Pascasio who will be charged later today in respect to that same murder. Police were following several leads, several statements were recorded and as had originally stated the motive was robbery.”
The men appeared today before Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser. She explained to them that she would not take a plea because the offence is indictable. She also told them that she cannot offer them bail and remanded them into custody until October third. They were represented in court by Simeon Sampson.
