Ministry of Health hosts meeting to discuss adolescent health

The Ministry of Health invited the media to a breakfast meeting today to look at the current situation on adolescent health.  It was an informative session that looked at various perspectives and issues involving young persons ranging from eating habits, sexual activity, among others.  Dr. Natalia Largaespada Beer, Technical Advisor and Maternal and Child Health Unit gave an overview of the event.

Dr. Natalia Largaespada Beer Technical Advisor Maternal and Child: “The representatives from the different media houses we consider that it’s necessary to provide them with the basic information on the topics that we are addressing as a country. We did it previously preparing you all on the measles threat. We did sensitization sessions also on the Human Papillomavirus when it was introduced for the first time as a public health intervention so adolescents health is a result of society and you all play a key role so we wanted to afford you basic information on adolescent,health, where we are as a country so you all can be part of this response in addressing issues affecting adolescents.
