Another Belize City resident is claiming police brutality after her son was reportedly targeted and pepper sprayed by three police officers. Dorita Muschamp told the media today that her twenty-year-old son Ulide Allen was picked up by a police mobile shortly before nine o’clock on Saturday night and taken to a dark area where they proceeded to abuse him.  Muschamp says that this is not the first time her son is targeted, and was at the Racoon Street Police Station this morning to file a report against the officers.

“On Saturday night I left my son on Jasmine St. by a shop. By the time I reached home in like 20 minutes I got a call from my mom. When I got on the call my son was saying mom please come they tried to kill me, they tried to kill me please come I can’t see. So I ran out without a footwear without and I went to my mom’s home and when I went there to found my son in just boxers because my mom already took off his clothes to bath him to wash off his pepper spray and I asked him what happened. He said three Police officers picked him from off Tibruce St. and took him behind Chetumal St. where they tried to take him out the vehicle and he asked one of them what the problem is. One of them told him that they want his soul and that they were going to kill him right there. He said from there they started to pepper spray him in his face on his whole body and that’s when he tried to escape from them he said he end up manage to escape and that was when he tried to find my mom home and that was when they called me.”

“What makes you say that?”

Dorita Muschamp  -Mother of Victim

“I don’t want to say.”

Muschamp took her son to the hospital and his injuries were classified as harm. But the story did not end there; Allen was later detained by police. According to Muschamp police are saying he is being investigated for a robbery. She adds that this is the third time she is making a report to the professional standard branch. She says nothing came out of the first two reports she had filed in the past.
