Mother killed in traffic incident

A woman was killed in a road traffic incident yesterday evening on the Philip Goldson Highway. Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino provided the details.

Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino – Crime Investigation Branch: Police visited Mile 33 or visited an area between Miles 33 and 34 on the Philip Goldson Highway. Upon arrival they discovered a Suzuki Grand Vitara. A SUV type vehicle with an Orange Walk license on the left hand side of the road in the bushes. It had extensive damages to the front and the top of the vehicle. On arrival they discovered Ms. Lemy Rosa Jesus Ewan, A 43 year old Nurse of Orange Walk with injuries to the head and body. She was pronounced dead at the scene, what police have been made to understand is that Ms. Rosa De Jesus was driving the SUV from Crooked Tree in the direction of Rahburn Ridge and she lost control of vehicle causing it to overturn. Inside the vehicle with her were two Minors: a 12 year old and a 9 year old.

The two children who were in the vehicle received minor injuries. Nurse Lemi Ewan served as a certified nurse anesthesis at the Northern Regional Hospital.
