The third annual music week is being observed this week. The Office of the Music Ambassador in collaboration with the Institute of Creative Arts, under the National Institute of Culture and History, NICH, started activities on Monday with consultations on Music Business in the digital era, digital retail and digital marketing. Activities continued today with a Music in School Rally to promote music as a part of the education curriculum. Music Ambassador Shyne Barrow spoke about this year’s objectives.

The concert featured several Belizean artists. Today two of them, Coconu Bwai and Cross Di Nitro spoke of how the work towards promoting Belizean music and musicians has helped them in their careers.

Activities to end the week include a Digicell Mega Stage highlighting local artists focused on native music on Thursday, a Belikin Mega Stage highlighting musicians from the Dancehall and Reggae genre on Friday and the Fareed Ahmad Mega Stage highlighting local artists from the Hip Hop and R&B genre on Saturday.
