The National Committee for Families and Children (NCFC) says that Gun violence against children whether intentional or accidental appears to be increasing in a disturbing trend. The NCFC’s latest statement comes after a four month old baby boy was accidentally shot by his father with a pellet gun at their home in Gales Point Village. The NCFC says that the incident quote, “further demonstrates why guns of any nature should not be present in homes; however, if they are licensed and kept in the home, extra care must be taken to ensure that when not in use, it is properly stored out of the reach of children.” End of quote. The NCFC is calling on the parents to be more responsible and actively prevent violence against their children.
