The Financial Secretary was also asked about reports that the Ministry of Education found 13 million dollars to pay for school fees for selected students. These students were reportedly selected by UDP Campaigners as the March 7 election nears. Here is how Joseph Waight responded.

“I don’t know about $2.1 million, I heard it on the news last night. I know there is no $2.1 million dollars in the Ministry of Education; it’s a Ministry of Education matter because certainly we didn’t give them any additional money for their vote”
