Police have not charged 47 year old Anselm Gillett in the death of 77-year old George Young who died in a road traffic incident on the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road on January 29. Authorities say that the file is being prepared to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution for directions. Police report that the incident happened around 2:30 in the afternoon of January 29. Gillett, a resident of Burrell Boom told police that he was driving a blue Mack brand truck, carrying a bulldozer, on the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road heading towards Hattieville Village. When he was about a mile and a half past the dump site, he noticed a black Toyota Rav 4 coming in the opposite direction and it swerved into the left lane. Gillett says he slowed down and tried to stay closer to the right hand side of the road but the Toyota collided into the bulldozer. Young was fatally wounded. Police took a urine sample from Gillett and he was issued a notice of intended prosecution.
