Officer Knocked down in Incident

There was a third road traffic accident over the weekend however, the victim was not killed. A police officer was hospitalized over the weekend after he was involved in a traffic incident in Belmopan. Correspondent Fem Cruz reports.

Fem Cruz Cayo Correspondent: “A late Saturday evening traffic incident on the George Price Highway left a Police officer attached to the Belmopan sub formation with a couple broken bones. According to Priscilla Budna Belizean Auxiliary Nurse and a resident of San Ignacio Town, some time around 6:30 this evening she was driving her dark and blue Wingle pick up truck in the direction of San Ignacio Town towards Belmopan. Upon reaching mile 51 and 52 she suddenly heard a loud bang on the drivers side of her vehicle, she was frightened and immediately applied brakes which caused her to lose control of the vehicle she was driving in and ran into a nearby drain. Some minutes after she got out of the vehicle and realized that it was a Police officer that ran into her vehicle. He was identified as Glen Viatoro. The officer was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital by ambulance were he suffered a left broken leg in two places, a large cut wound over the left eye and abrasion to the left elbow. He was later transferred to the KHMH for treatment. This is brother Fem Cruz Cayo Correspondent reporting for Love FM.”
