Police discovered and confiscated over fifty pounds of marijuana on Sunday. The discovery was made by the Gang Suppression Unit during an operation in the Western Pines, 8 Miles Community. The officers found ninety four black plastic bags containing marijuana. These were hidden in a PVC pipe about ten feet long and one foot wide that had been buried in the ground. The team also found thirty nine more parcels wrapped and secured with duct tape inside another PVC pipe. In total the drugs amounts to a little over fifty one pounds. No arrests were made and the drug was deposited as found property. Also on Sunday, Belmopan police searched a feeder road in Camalote Village that resulted in the discovery of five parcels containing four and a half pounds of marijuana. These were also labeled as found property since no one was founding the area.
