Last Friday, Caye Caulker police formation received reports of a sixty millimeter live ammunition that was discovered in a dredge north of the island. Today, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett updated the media on the results of their investigation.

ACP Joseph Myvette: “As a result the BDF experts were called who came in an inspected the ammunition before it was brought in by the BDF pending investigation. Initial investigation into that matter is that on Thursday the 30th of August shortly after 5:30 pm the workers on the dredge had left for the day and sometime later that evening the watchman arrived and upon his arrival a small white boat was seen leaving the area and so then the discovery was not made until the following day which was Friday the 31st of August.”

According to Myvett, investigations by both the Belize Police Department and the Belize Defense Force are ongoing.
