Senior Superintendent Howell Gillett, commander of Region One, Eastern Division continues to use the softer side of policing to combat the crime situation in our nation. Gillett told Love News that the department is trying to save children from being sucked into the crime culture. One way, the police is doing this is by enrolling children in its police cadets.  Love News caught up with the police this evening as they met with the Rocky Road Cadets.

Love News also spoke with Terry Scott, a missionary, who shared how an initiative like this helps children.

For their part, the children just enjoyed the experience.  Love news spoke with two of the children, Nikia Paulino and Giselle Elliot.

Today almost a hundred police officers were treated to general wellness exams at the Raccoon Street Police Station.
