Police continue to work on establishing a motive for the shooting of four persons in Trial Farm Village in the Orange Walk District on Tuesday night.35-year-old Nazario Herrera was sitting in front of his house along with his common-law-wife, 26-year-old Diana Ack, 19-year-old Victor Ku and 20-year-old Monico Gomez when someone entered the yard and fired several shots in their direction. ACP Joseph Myvett, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch shared what police investigations have uncovered so far.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch: Shortly before 8pm whilst Mr. Heredia and therefore mentioned person were inside his yard sitting down a male person approached the yard, opened the gate and there after fired a number of shots which caused the injuries to the a four mentioned persons .So far the Police have not been able to identify any suspect, our investigation into this mater continues. Last check on the victims, all are in stable condition and Victor Co has been released from the Northern Regional Hospital.
Reporter: Sir one of the victims has stated that he knew who that shooter was, did he disclose any of that?
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch: No that was not disclosed to the police.
Reporter: Mr. Heredia was the intended target?
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch: Well we do not know as four persons received injuries and the residence does belong to Heredia.
Herrera told the media that he recognized the gunman who also escaped in a vehicle but police say they do not have that information. No motive has been established and no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.
