Three vehicles were torched in the Toledo District on the sixth of February. The vehicles were the property of Christon Foster, Patrick Avila and Burlington Jones and the police labeled the incidents as arson. Could it be the work of a pyromaniac? Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett says that one more vehicle was burnt on Sunday morning in Punta Gorda.
ACP Joseph Myvett: “Where on Sunday morning sometime around 1 am Punta Gorda Police were on patrol when they observed a Volkswagen Amarok that was parked besides Tim’s store was engulfed in flames. As a result the Fire Department was called where the fire was extinguished. During the inspection of the scene a plastic bottle with liquid was found. So far surveillance footages viewed have not been able to determine the identity of the person. The investigation has led us to believe that it was a case of arson. At this point in time we do not know if they are all connected but at this point in time we are following several leads and we are trying to see if we can determine the identity of the person that was involved in the last fire which was yesterday morning early. This one would have been a distance away because this was pretty much downtown Punta Gorda. Yes we have strategized hence the reason why it was the Police who discovered the vehicle on fire.”
