“It is a brand new steel elevated tank having the ability to hold 3,000 gallons of water. It is solar powered and can be powered via power from BEL. Part of the project also ensured that we collaborated with various entities to have this wholesome project that we have and we worked together with water, sanitation and hygiene education intervention with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and of course the Ministry of Labor and Local Government – that we did along with the community here in San Victor. The idea here is to train everyone in the community about safe water usage and maintain the system that they have. I want to take this opportunity to encourage you to take care of your system. While we have the water board who has direct responsibility to the system if we don’t pay our bills they cannot upkeep and keep the system running for the time to come. Presently the project is in what they call the defects/liability period which any issue the contractors are responsible to come back and deal with it and to set it right for you to continue to have safe potable water in this community.”
The project costs over three hundred thousand dollars.
