Audubon Launches 2nd Edition of historical Cockscomb Book

The Belize Audubon Society manages seven protected areas across the country. Approximately 20 miles on the Southern Highway, the roads open up to pristine mountainous views.  At the base of the mountains after you take a trek for several miles past Maya Center Village and the Tiger Fern Waterfall and trails, the story of the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary book was written  with contributions from visitors and dozens of authors over 23 years ago. The first edition of the book was written in 1996 and since then it has been updated with new data and careful consideration for the history of the area and the surrounding communities. Love News attended the launch of the COCKSCOMB BASIN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY It’s History, Flora and Fauna, Visitors, Teachers and Scientists 2nd Edition.
