With only three days to Christmas, stories are packed with shoppers looking for that perfect gift for their loved ones and buying items they just can’t do without this Christmas. Love news visited several stores to see how much traffic those stores are getting.

Melanie Dunn – Sales Representative, Courts Belize

“A lot of people are in here as you can see for yourself.”

Reporter:

“What are some of the hot items this Christmas?”

“Well, actually everything in our store is hot. As you can see right now the guys are actually wrapping some items. A lot of customers are getting their mattresses for this Christmas, also sofas are another hot seller.”

Reporter: In terms of the sales when compared to last year, do you see it being more or less?”

Melanie Dunn – Sales Representative, Courts Belize

“Well actually to me it’s the same. Every year we have the same customers actually our existing customers come in every year to shop with us. We have some customers who come in only during this Christmas time to shop with us as well.”

Love news also spoke with the Assistant Manager at James Brodies Company Limited, Carol Vernon.

Carol Vernon – Assistant Manager, James Brodies Co. Ltd.

“So far its been pretty good for us. As you can see right now there are customers at the register and its basically the final touches of the food, the ham and the turkey and soft drinks and different like things like that for the table they are picking up. From the department store, we still have some late shoppers, people still looking for curtains and comforters and carpet and they are looking at the moment so it’s been pretty good for us so far.”

Reporter:

“When compared to last year would you say there has been an increase in sales?”

Carol Vernon – Assistant Manager, James Brodies Co. Ltd.

“It is hard to say. I think its kind of at this point it is still even. In home decor, I have seen a very large increase in home decor because this year we have some very unique items that we didn’t have before and people are going for them so in home decor in the department store yes there is an increase in home decor. You know nobody comes and buys what they want they buy and they see other things and they pick up so that is also an advantage for us because we have other things that they may not have had on their list but they like and they take it.”

Here at Love, we continue spreading Christmas cheer with our 12 Days of Christmas, which continues tonight at Bottom Dollar parking lot in Belize City.
