Representatives of the countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA) met in Belize on Monday for the SICA Preparatory Cooperation Meeting. The objective of the meeting was to evaluate and prioritize the 25 regional cooperation projects and 1 project for the Strengthening of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Central America. The regional cooperation projects to be presented to the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) are estimated at forty five million US dollars. The projects are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the five pillars of the Central American Integration System namely, Economic Integration, Social Integration, Climate Change and Integrated Risk Management, Democratic Security and Institutional Strengthening. The projects are to be presented for approval at the Seventh Mixed Commission between Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Republic of China (Taiwan), to be held in Belize in December 2018.
