The Social Security Board will be awarding fifty-two scholarships to students for the upcoming school year in September. Chandra Nisbet-Cansino, General Manager/Corporate Customer Relation Services shared more about the scholarships.

Chandra Nisbet-Cansino, General Manager/Corporate Customer Relation Services:“We are offering 52 scholarships and they range from the high school scholarships, Sixth form , Votec and this year we are adding two bachelor programs, two bachelor degree scholarships as well for the local universities of course.”

Reporter: How many did you offer last year?

Chandra Nisbet-Cansino, General Manager/Corporate Customer Relation Services: ”It’s pretty much it’s about the same, we average about the same each year. Since the program started in about 2000 we have graduated a little over 700 students and so every year we add around 50 to 52 scholarships more.”

Reporter: So when is the deadline for persons to apply?

Chandra Nisbet-Cansino, General Manager/Corporate Customer Relation Services: “The deadline for application is May 31st of this year of 2018 so students have quite a few more weeks. We wanted to get out early and share the information so that people will be able to benefit from all the scholarships.”

Persons interested can visit Social Security Board website at http://www.socialsecurity.org.bz  to apply.
