Steve Crawford charged with attempted murder

Twenty-two year old Steve Crawford,  a construction worker was charged with two counts of attempted murder when he appeared today before Magistrate Khadeem Palmer. Crawford was also charged with two counts of dangerous harm and two counts of use of deadly means of harm. He was remanded into custody until November 26th. The charges arose from an incident that occurred around 6:50 p.m. on September 19th. Two men, 35 year old Jermaine Garbutt and 40 year old Everal Neal, reported to the police that they were sitting on the step of a house on Neals Pen Road in Belize City when they were approached by two men riding on a motorcycle. Neal and Garbutt said the man on the pillion of the motorcycle fired several shots in their direction and injured them. Neal was shot in the left side of his hip while Garbutt received gunshot injuries to both knees and his left leg. They were admitted to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they are reported to be in critical but stable condition.
