The Ministry of Health confirms that there are three cases of H1N1 Influenza in the country. In a release issued shortly before six o’clock this evening, the Ministry states that the three cases were confirmed in the Corozal District and include two males and a pregnant female. The results were confirmed at the Central Medical Lab in Belize City and as a result, the Ministry has activated its Northern regional and National Surveillance Teams. They will manage the cases as the Ministry plans the next steps while continuing to monitor the situation. The two men are reported to have traveled recently to Merida, Yucatan Mexico. The woman is not a resident in that district but is reported to live in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
