Tourism Minister attends regional meeting

Minister of Tourism, Manuel Heredia Jr., was in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic along with a delegation for the Ordinary Meeting of the Central American Council of Tourism Ministers. The regional meeting focused on the promotion of the Central American region as a multi-hub tourism destination. The Ministers also discussed how their regional goal will be accomplished in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  Key recommendations coming out of the sessions were the facilitation of air connectivity with member countries of SICA, strengthening of tourism safety and security across the region, and promotion of tourism investment, with a specific focus on Micro-, Small- and Medium Enterprises.
