Trio Charged for Drug Trafficking in Western Belize

Three persons from Santa Elena have been charged with drug trafficking. On Thursday while San Ignacio Police were on special operations, they conducted a search at a home in the Bradley’s Bank area of Santa Elena.  Present during the time of the search were 47-year-old Junior Cherrington and 40-year-old Cladett Diana James. Police say while they were in the process of conducting the search, 20-year-old Jaren Jermain Rudon arrived. Nothing incriminating was found in the house however a further search was conducted in the yard. The top soil was removed about six inches where a white plastic gallon was seen, inside Police found a black plastic bag. It contained two other bags and when opened Police found green vegetable substance suspected to be cannabis. It was shown to them and were informed of the offence committed, cautioned and escorted to the San Ignacio Police Station. At the station the drugs were weighed amounting to 158.0 grams of cannabis. All three persons were arrested and charged with drug trafficking.
