Sunday night two men were shot as they were socializing in front of one of their homes on the south side of Belize City. Belmopan resident Justin Stuart was standing in front of Jamal Palacio’s on Pelican Street Extension when a gunman fired at them. The police did not say specifically what was the motive of that shooting except to say that they believe it was connected to the shooting of Ronald Michael that happened earlier on Sunday morning.
ASP Alejandro Cowo – Head CIB Belize City: “Just after 10 PM Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they observed two persons with apparent gunshot wounds. They were identified as Jamal Palacio 27 years old of Pelican Street and Justin Stuart of a Belmopan address. What police has gathered so far is that Mr. Palacio and Mr. Stuart were in front of Mr. Palacio’s residence when two male persons came on a motorcycle and one of the male persons from the motorcycle fired several shots at their direction causing the injuries to them. Both of them were admitted to the hospital, Mr. Palacio was discharged and Mr. Stuart is still presently admitted in a critical condition at this moment. We believe that it is linked to the shooting with Mr. Micheal that happened earlier in the morning. We are looking for the two persons that were on the motorcycle.”
